About The Lost Abbey Ultimate Box Set
The Lost Abbey Ultimate Box set includes 13 special edition brews (aka: “Tracks” 1 through 13), a custom-designed album sleeve with the full-sized art used on each of the beer labels and liner notes from the brewers — all packaged in hand-built, numbered metal road cases. The Box Set case and album sleeve were designed by Grammy® award-winning art director Matt Taylor of Varnish Studio in collaboration with John Schulz of StudioSchulz. Each of the Sets had a retail value of $450 and was not available to the general public nor is it available for purchase. The Lost Abbey Ultimate Box Set was the recipient of the 2012 Bev Star “Most Innovative Packaging” from the Beverage World Publication. Track 8 also received a Bronze Medal (Experimental Beer) at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival and came in 2nd place for Best of Show for the 2012 FoBAB Awards in Chicago.

Lance will be at The Lost Abbey Tasting Room (155 Mata Way, San Marcos, CA) on Friday, September 27th around 4pm with a portion of all pint sales going to help fund Lance’s journey.

About Lance’s Brewery Tour:
Lance’s Brewery Tour follows Lance Rice, a brilliant beer historian with autism, and his nephew on a 1500 mile road trip as Lance sets out to visit the breweries of the Midwest and fulfill his lifelong dream to write a book about the history and culture of American Beer. The documentary chronicles Lance’s awe inspiring journey as he faces his social fears and phobias and spends nearly a month away from home to collect the photos, experiences and information he needs to write his book.

There’s Steve…

At one point or another, we’ve all had the pleasure to speak to Steve Burchill… usually its more listening than speaking as he has amazing thoughts running through his brain. Here’s a little insight in to what makes Steve tick.

With kind hops
With kind hops
  1. If you were stuck on a cruise ship and forced to make toilet wine to survive… What would be your ideal ingredients?
Orange juice and some bread.  Fermented in a bag.
  2. You account for 68% of Anime watching in the western hemisphere… Which one is your favorite and why? Follow up question: How great of an ice breaker is it to quote picachu when you’re on a date?
While I will admit to being a huge nerd, I don’t watch anime.  My favorite nerdy show is Star Trek (TNG) because Picard is the best.
  3. You’re really into golf… but golf is boring so I won’t ask you a golf related question – Favorite horrible move to watch when you pretend to be sick and stay home?
As far as bad movies go, I like disgusting action movies.  I guess if I had to choose one it would be Delta Force starring Chuck Norris.
  4. You’re brewing pretty much everyday, how do you fill the other 16 hours?
I usually don’t do too much during the week, but sometimes I’ll try to sneak in a round of golf.  I’ll usually end up playing video games at some point during the day as well.
  5. We’re all aware of your fascination with Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” song… But what have you been listening to lately?
    Sleep – Dopesmoker
  6. Favorite App on your phone?
I’d have to say the ones I use the most are the ESPN Fantasy Football app and the new podcast app I just downloaded.
  7. If you had a chance to be on one game show, which one would it be?
    Definitely Jeopardy.
